Hi Everyone! My name is Tolulope, but I go by Tolu. I am originally from Lagos, Nigeria, and moved to New Jersey where I spent the majority of my childhood. I have since moved to New York City where I attend St. John's University and have just about 5 months until I graduate. When it is time to talk about myself or introduce myself, everything I seem to know about myself evades me. My passion for pharmacy is something that developed over time and not something I originally saw myself doing when I was deciding my career path. I fell into pharmacy and now it seems like the only place I can imagine myself. I have worked in different pharmacy practice settings since the beginning of school. I started off as a technician and then intern at CVS in my hometown in New Jersey, then worked as an intern at Cohen's Children's Medical Center in Long Island, and now I work remotely as a Global Labeling Associate for Merck. All of these experiences have given me such a well-rounded view of pharmacy practice and how pharmacy is constantly growing and ever-changing. Within these roles, the one thing that I have carried with me is patient care. In every setting, though the tasks and expectations may differ, the center of it all never changes: the patient. As of now, I am pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship in Regulatory Affairs at a pharma company in Westchester County, New York. I am excited to bring all the perspectives I have gained from my time at St. John's as well as all the different settings I have worked in to this new role.
